  This love awesome but my brain just can't work the BOGO deal. How is it both packs are free?

  Both packs are free because the store is essentially paying for one, and the coupon is paying for the other one. Some cashiers won't let you do this, but others will. There is nothing in any coupon policy that dictates you cannot.

  I tried this yesterday... the packs were ringing up for 60 and 59 cents subsequently... so when handed a coupon, the cashier deducted only 60 cents for one of the packs. He called the manager when I told him that a friend had told me that it can be free. The manager said he is not arguing with the computer / system and threw all coupons in the trash can and gave the 6 packs of gum to me for free. I was like WTH!!!

  that is extremely odd! usually only Walgreen's is the store that makes the b1g1 sales ring up other than 1 at full price and the other at $0.

  I'm right there with Soni! I don't understand how you got all that gum for free. Please explain in a step-by-step manner so we can repeat it :) I can't just toss a bunch of gum on the conveyor and tell the cashier "There's my gum and here are my coupons...and when you are done ringing everything up all this should be free!" We need information as to how we can replicate this stuff :) Newbies don't yet have the knowledge that you possess ;) TIA!
